  1. I love your blog (got introduced by a former math teacher of mine). And I love Art of Problem Solving classes (who teach math waaay better than him–sorry, man). This is the crossover I didn’t know I needed. But I do, and it’s totally worth it.

  2. Regarding multiplication as repeated addition, I was blown away when I learned that multiplication can be defined as an operation that distributes over addition.

    a*1 = 1*a = a
    a(b+1) = ab + a

    It encompasses the “repeated addition” notion of multiplication, but it does so much more.

    Distribution is not just a property.
